Hi Roman, great comment, I always think about the theory that had all the facts to say that the sun orbits around the earth when I see people arguing about the validity of evolution. I also like to remember a cartoon (not sure if it was Simpsons or South Park or other...) that showed that after a long time all humans became atheists but they were split between two types os atheists and were still fighting. I am a scientist and I see evolution as a great explanation considering our current knowledge and availability of facts but I am scientist because I love to find out new facts and help to expand the previous knowledge which sometimes show that it wasn't quite right. One day egg is bad for health the next one it is ok :D.

This quote itself is very ambiguous. You can either wonder how there's only probability and you being here and not someone far better proves this, or think of how such unlikely set of coincidences could culminate into you if there wasn't something that could turn probability in your favor, like what some call God. Either way, something is true: the universe is, according to the most recent theories (relativity included) finite, even though it is expanding. Therefore, in a finite space, the amostral probability of an event is also finite. Based on this, I can't understand when someone says that we're just ordinary, that life is just ordinary.
Liking or not, we are special. The probability of a planet with ideal conditions for life being formed, in a perfect distance from it's star, in a good location in it's galaxy, with all the due and necessary chemicals to start life based on carbon and water, that is able to associate with lifeforms, evolve and reach the point where they can think and explore things they can't see (for fundamentalist atheists that may criticize me at this point: I'm talking about extradimensions and quantum mechanics) is so extremely small that, doing the math, probably even if you had a googolplex of decimal aproximation, it would still be zero.
Even if you say that there's life out there in the universe, we haven't assured contact with any extraterrestrial lifeform. So, even if you insist, probability isn't in your favor. What is left is only belief. So, it doesn't matter what you believe in or not, but I think is just wrong for anyone to state that we're ordinary, that life is ordinary. We are special.
I won't say what I believe in, as it isn't necessary, but I have to say I desagree with mr. Dawkins method, specially after watching one documentary of his. Nevertheless, this quote is fantastic as a way to express the joy that is to be alive, we are here despite everything in favour of us not being.
I'm really sorry for the long post, and I don't know if someone will ever read it, but I'd certainly like if someone did. Also, sorry if there were many errors in my text, English isn't my native language, and sometimes they just happen.
