Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) was pretty much the most awesome guy ever. He was a printer, writer, postmaster general, scientist, newspaper editor, politician and founding father of the United States. He also invented the lightning rod, bifocals, urinary catheter (a rigid metal tube was used before Franklin invented the flexible catheter – ouch!) and even the first political cartoon.
- This quote has also been attributed to Mark Twain. Can anyone confirm who the real source is?
- I know this one’s a bit depressing – can you tell I thought of this comic when I was still working at my office job?
Love how the trash can changed over the years too. They don’t update office equipment where I work.
Ha, those cheap bastards!
While the ergonomics of the workstation continue to suck–just like in real life!
Great quote and so true. I changed jobs and career paths at various times when it became too easy or routine or the bosses put a target on my back. Every time I changed, even when it was to get away from a toxic environment, it always changed for the better and I grew as a person and expanded my talents and horizons. Change is good. The key is knowing when it’s time.
Change is good Greg – I probably haven’t changed jobs enough and am totally guilty of getting complacent … not anymore!
Hey Gav, Am enjoying your quotes. This is wonderful. Makes me love my odd lifestyle! wahahah
You should totally animate this one.
Note to self: get new job
Where have you been! Don’t you know I could have used this 28 years ago! What? There wasn’t much of an internet back then and you weren’t even born yet? Oh… OK, Your forgiven. From one who is trying to break free.
