UPDATE: This quote is misattributed to Mark Twain. It’s actually from a book by H. Jackson Brown Jr., who’s most well-known for the bestselling Life’s Little Instruction Books. This quote is taken from Jackson’s book P.S. I Love you and is credited to his mother.

Mark Twain (1835-1910, real name: Samuel Clemens) was an American writer and humourist. He was known for his sharp intellect and wit, and was possibly the first ever stand-up comedian. I’m sorry to admit I haven’t read Tom Sawyer or Huckleberry Finn … I know, I know – I’m hopeless! I found this quote in an ebook from the Location Independent site, which provides tips on how to be your own digital boss and work from anywhere in the world (sounds good to me!). Twain is a great source of quotes, and I plan to use more of his in the future.

A friend who saw this comic said the main character looks exactly like me. I guess I could really relate to this quote so I put myself in the cartoon. One of my goals this year is to set sail and do more travelling. After spending most of my twenties working for The Man it’s time to go exploring.
