223. Just Keep Missing
This is the sequel to my Strange Like Me comic from over three years ago. The lil’ brow girl (that’s what I call her) is one of my most popular characters and I don’t know why it took me so long to feature her again. I’m not great with capitalising on a good thing!

Wonderful comic, so much heart in this! I think you could stack that patreon thing up a little higher than a hundred dollars. I can imagine some people way more loaded than me would love to give you 1 omegatrillion dollar per drawing.

It’s been hard for me to keep a positive attitude, to not get angry and appreciate what I have and what I do. And let me tell you, it’s more than I ever dream I could accomplish.
Then I forget that I have to keep growing, that each day I have to be a better person than the day before.

An Artist first rule (at least for me):
Create something because you *want* to, not because you *have* to. Creativity is not a spigot you can turn on and off whenever your parents/teacher/public/publisher demands it. If it doesn’t flow from your soul to your fingers, it’s not Art…

I’m curious: Is a Graphical Designer not an artist because they can produce good looking designs when their employer “demands” it?
I mean surely their art is good or otherwise people wouldn’t pay for their services.

Man, I kinda suck at art, but every time I make something, even something I know is really bad, there will always be at least one person out there to tell me they like it. And that makes it all worth it. For those lonely voices that give me a pat on the head even though they don’t have to, I keep making stuff and trying to get better at it. 🙂
